By George, we did it!

Our Apartment is kinda weird shaped, and the kitchen is pretty darn small. And when we moved in we actually had a table, but it had been moved so many times in it's long life that it finally died.... we even tried to resurrect it, but it ended up looking like a Frankenstein table. And not in a good way. So we dropped it off at the DI then ran like the wind, like everyone else does with broken furniture, and went searching for a new table.
We then quickly found out how much people want for tables. And it's a lot. And they are all huge. And normally broken. So i decided after 10 minutes surfing on the internet I was going to build my own table and nothing was going to stop me. And to tell you the truth it wasn't that hard, and it was kinda fun.
Matt was not on board at first, actually he laughed when i first mentioned it then said "ohh you're serious?" I somehow convinced him it was a good idea and 39$ later ( minus the legs.... those were a pretty penny, But they are gorgeous) we have my new favorite table.

It just needs one more coat of Polyurethane and it's done! And i now need to stalk the DI for some new chairs cause my old one just don't fit anymore, but besides that I'm pretty proud of my new table and it was so much cheaper then if i had tried to buy one. And it's the exact size i wanted it to be. Totally worth it.

What we've been up to

I have never spent a summer in Idaho till now. ever. I was always on Fall/Winter track so i would leave in April and would not come back till September. Man i sure missed out on some awesome weather. And much to my dismay i think I'm actually going to miss Idaho. Summer sure is starting to make up for all that snow. And it also didn't hurt that i married into a family with a boat. We are making the most of this summer, since it will probably be our last since Matt is hopefully graduating next July. We even sat down today and realized that we have something planed for the next 5 weeks straight. canoeing, Backpacking, Vegas, Camping. This next moth is going to be epic.

And in other news Matts younger brother graduated from High School. It's so strange having younger siblings now. Growing up as the youngest in my family, and by a pretty big margin, It's kinda nice to not be the youngest anymore. and it only took 23 years.

And were still working on our apartment, the bed room is still a chaotic mess but the kitchen is looking better! Our kitchen is pretty small and awkward shaped. And there is basically no counter space. so we were trying to find a table to fit in our small long kitchen when i had the marvelous idea to just build our own. It would be cheaper and be the right size. and so far it's looking good. I'm post about it when we finally get it put together, which might be awhile given our hectic schedule. but none the less we will finish it!

Cave Falls

I think I'm really starting to love Idaho. Not enough that I'm not still excited to move somewhere else, but i do have to admit it's pretty beautiful here. Sunday was amazing, and my old roommates were in town from Boise, so after church we drove out on an adventure to cave falls, and boy was it nice out there. Cause the truth is I've never spent a summer in Rexburg. Throughout all of college i was on Fall/Winter Track so i would come into town at the end of summer and leave in April at the "beginning". I think I'm going to enjoy summer here, and we are already planning a canoe trip and  backpacking trip. This summer is going to be awesome. Well as along as i pack bug spray, cause i'm not kidding you i had never seen so many mosquito's in  my life, I'm not kidding you when i say i managed to kill 6 of those little buggers with one swat if my hand on only one side of my leg. they were everywhere! That last picture is me freaking out cause there was a swarm attacking my leg. And it didn't help that Matt was quoting " Look a mosquito has chosen me as her perch" the entire time. but still it was pretty funny.
